Class 117 DMBS Delivered for Project Wareham

Four refurbished DMU vehicles have returned to the Swanage Railway following an extensive overhaul at Eastleigh works. The vehicles comprise a three car class 117 DMU and a single car class 121 DMU. All have been upgraded to mainline standards for use on trains linking the Swanage Railway branch to the national network at Wareham.

The photographs below show the Driving Motor Break Second (DMBS) vehicle (51356) from the class 117 being unloaded at Norden.

The Swanage Railway always welcomes new volunteers so, for a chat, contact Swanage Railway volunteer co-ordinator Mike Whitwam on 01929 475212 or email him at iwanttovolunteer@swanagerailway.co.uk.
